Hidden within the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park is one of the Sunshine Coasts' best kept paddling secrets, the Noosa Everglades.

Within the Noosa Everglades, are the pristine headwaters of the Noosa River. A waterway that, due to its National Park status, has remained a delicate and pristine wilderness, undisturbed by civilization. Only two hours drive north of Queensland’s capital city, Brisbane, the glorious Noosa Everglades is well known by locals and visitors alike as a marvelous wildlife sanctuary, boasting magnificent birdlife and a myriad of natural vegetation types including wallum scrub, rainforest and coastal sand dunes.

After some guided wildlife spotting, begin your Noosa Everglades kayaking adventure at the Great Sandy National Park Canoe Launching site on the shore of Lake Cootharaba. Before you set off, be briefed and receive a detailed Kayak lesson by Kanu Kapers Australia guide on paddling techniques, land mark orientation and trip highlights. Set off North across Lake Cootharaba to Kinaba (Sir Thomas Hiley) Information Centre where you can stop to read about the Great Sandy National Park and the ecology of the upper Noosa River, take a strole along the boardwalk which follows the edge of Lake Cootharaba, or simply stop take in the marvelous views back over the lake.

This is where the adventure really starts! Back in your kayak, continue up into the Noosa Everglades (Upper Noosa River) and navigate your way through small lakes and islands of reeds and tea-trees and up throught the section known as 'The Narrows'; where the water is so glassy and still it mirrors the surrounding landscape perfectly.Paddle all the way to the famous fisherman's campout 'Harry's Hut' and freshen up with a rejuvenating swim from the jetty.

Set up camp in your choice of 15 National Park campsites along the upper Noosa River; enjoy your dinner by the Rivers edge and try count the millions of stars as they twinkle into sight as the sun slips away over the tree tops. On the second day, why not visit the Cooloola Sand Blow, just an hours walk from Campsite 3, which offers spectacular views over the Great Sandy National Park and back down to Noosa.

On the third day, either spend some time relaxing at the campsite or jump back into the kayak for further exploration along the river, either head North a little more or head back south and stay within the lower reached of the Noosa Everglades and explore up Kin Kin Creek. Make your way back to the launch site on the shores of Lake Cootharaba for your 3.00 m pick up.

Departure: Tours depart from Elanda Point Kayak & Canoe Launching Area, QLD  4565  at 8.30am 
Tour Duration: 8.30 am  until 3.00pm  on the 3rd Day

Transport:
-Courtesy Pick up and Drop off from the Noosa area to Boreen Point (only If client is without own transport) is available.

Pick up is between 7.30am - 8.00am. Out the front of their accomodation.
