Awesome Whitsundays: Overnight Reefsleep Experience
This day cruise experience includes a luxury vessel transfer to and from the Reef, full use of an innovative and spacious reef pontoon, overnight accommodation at Reefworld on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling with all gear provided, semi-submersible cruise with commentary, underwater viewing chamber, two all you can eat buffet lunches, two morning and afternoon teas, a superb barbecue dinner, presentations by Reef Experts, FREE wetsuit usage and use of the sun deck for topping up your tan. Massage, guided snorkelling, heli-scenic flights, night diving and daytime intro and certified diving experiences are available at an additional cost. You can also make purchases from the fully licensed bar.
There can be few more unique experiences offered in the World than the chance to sleep under the stars, 40 nautical miles from shore, on the Great Barrier Reef! ‘Reefworld’ is located on Hardy Reef one of the most spectacular stretches of the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coast.
It is the destination for our day visitors and for a lucky few an overnight experience never to be forgotten. Guests on the Reefsleep experience travel to Reefworld aboard our high speed luxury vessels with the day guests arriving around 11am. By day all the amazing activities offered on our Great Barrier Reef Adventures – snorkelling, diving, swimming, massage, heli-scenic flights are on offer. Guided snorkelling and diving trips (additional cost) with just small groups will take you to very special spots – giant Maori Wrasse, spectacular coral formations, a myriad of tropical fish, turtles and reef sharks all there to be seen. If you’re not a keen swimmer then enjoy the same sights... from the comfort of our semi submersible or wander down to the underwater viewing chamber.
Come 3pm the vessel leaves and there is just you and your fellow Reefsleep guests and our crew of course, with this magnificent part of the earth all to yourselves. A certain hush settles... just the sound of the water, maybe a few sea birds. As dusk approaches watch for turtles surfacing or coming to nibble the seaweed around the pontoon.
SWAG ACCOMMODATION: A swag is a cosy, low tent with a clear viewing panel above your head, a comfortable mattress and snug bedding. Our swags are available as king singles (for just one person) or doubles (for two people sharing). The experience of sleeping in a swag out on the Great Barrier Reef is just unbeatable! Being so far from land, there are no biting insects, so you can even sleep with the cover open - just you, the sea air and the stars!
Great Barrier Reef Adventures departs daily from Port of Airlie, Hamilton Island Marina and Daydream Island Resort and Spa. Where a Day Cruise is cancelled we will send notification to the contact details provided at the time of your booking.
Reeflsleep guests must be 12 years or older. Night dives must be booked three days in advance.
