6 day Open Water & Advanced Dive Course

This course provides you with the theoretical skill and the practical skill that you require to dive anywhere in the world. During the advanced course you will learn the skills for under water navigation, deep diving, night diving and choose any two of the following; naturalist diving, multilevel diving, or search and recovery of an object.

Your professional instructor will help you through the learning process. Each new skill gets you closer to the day you board our boat for your liveaboard dive trip. Your open water dive course is split up into three sections.

Theory gives you the knowledge required to dive in open water conditions. This takes the form of classroom presentations and lectures by the instructor in the comfort of our new air-conditioned classrooms.

Confined water training takes place in our gas-heated pool at our state of the art diver training centre, during which time you will master the skills of diving.

At Cairns Dive Centre, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions. The basis of our training concept is thorough practice of scuba skills in the controlled environment of our new diver training centre. These skills combined with the understanding of safe diving practices and theory, prepare you for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience.

Guests: 38 passengers and 14 crew (Small numbers.  Will start an Open water course with 2 people.)

What's Included:
2 days of pool and theory 4 days and 3 nights on the Great Barrier Reef 13 dives in total Certification Meals and accommodation are provided while on the liveaboard All dive equipment transfers to and from accommodation. Port, reef and fuel levies.

Languages: All courses are taught in English, however manuals and exams are available in other languages.

Each new skill gets you closer to the day you board our catamaran MV Kangaroo Explorer for your liveaboard dive trip.

Your Open Water course is split into three sections: 1. Theory (in air-conditioned classrooms) 2. Confined water training (in our state of the art Diver Training Centre) 3. Open water diving (aboard the MV Kangaroo Explorer)

You will see a vast array of hard and soft corals, great drop-offs, exciting walls and swim-throughs. Experience the unbelievable thrill of Night Diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Sumptuous meals are prepared by our experienced chefs. Spend the evening relaxing in the Lounge Bar or out on deck to see the brilliant night sky.

We also operate MV Reef-Kist for day trips and snorkelling. If you choose our budget dive course, you will do 2 day trips aboard this vessel.
